Ottawa West End Community Chaplaincy

present in the multicultural, multi-faith

neighbourhoods of Pinecrest-Queensway.

OUR VISION AND WORK

Managed by a board of volunteers from supporting faith communities and local neighbourhoods, OWECC brings spiritual support and healing to numerous individuals and families. Discover the unique vision as well as some of the many exciting initiatives of the chaplaincy:

OUR VISION AND MISSION

We seek to live an inclusive expression of community throughout the multicultural, multi-faith neighbourhoods of West Ottawa. We serve by providing a ‘ministry of presence’ that accompanies people who live daily with the challenges of poverty, isolation, mental & physical health barriers, addictions and underemployment. We provide a compassionate outreach attentive to the needs and hopes of individuals and neighbourhood communities. Working together with people we desire to explore possibilities for empowering hope and more abundant living.

WHAT WE DO

Adult, Youth, and Community Engagement. Activities include:

Visiting at the neighbourhood food banks
Attending other community events
Leading youth martial arts programs
Facilitating neighbourhood drop-Ins
Conducting seasonal celebrations of faith
Providing pastoral care / counselling as needed
